DIGESTIVE HEALTH

Personalised nutritional support for digestive wellbeing.

Digestive symptoms can be frustrating, particularly when they persist despite your efforts to eat well. I work with people experiencing concerns such as bloating, changes in bowel habits or digestive discomfort, including people who already have a medically diagnosed digestive condition.

WHEN INITIAL INVESTIGATIONS HAVE NOT EXPLAINED THE WHOLE PICTURE

You may already have spoken to your GP and had appropriate investigations, yet still be trying to understand why your digestion feels unsettled or what practical changes are appropriate for you.

My role is not to diagnose the cause of digestive symptoms or replace gastroenterology or GP assessment. I look more closely at the nutritional and lifestyle context: what and how you eat, meal patterns, fibre and fluid intake, food tolerance, stress, sleep, medications, health history and relevant existing results.

This can help identify practical nutritional areas to work on while keeping medical investigation in the right place when symptoms require it.

AREAS WE MAY EXPLORE

+ Food and meal patterns

+ Fibre and fluid intake

+ Protein and overall nutritional adequacy

+ Food tolerance and dietary variety

+ Bowel habits and digestive comfort

+ Stress, sleep and lifestyle factors

+ Avoiding unnecessary long-term dietary restriction

A PERSONALISED APPROACH

Your plan is designed to be practical and proportionate. The aim is not to remove more and more foods, but to build a nutritionally adequate approach around your individual circumstances and medical history.

PRIVATE TESTING & SUPPLEMENTS

Where appropriate, private functional or nutritional testing may be discussed if it is relevant and likely to add useful information to your nutritional plan. Supplement recommendations may also be considered where there is a clear nutritional rationale, taking account of diet, health history, medications and other relevant factors. Neither testing nor supplements are presented as a way to diagnose or treat a medical condition.

WHEN MEDICAL INPUT IS IMPORTANT

New, persistent, severe or worsening symptoms may require medical assessment. Nutritional therapy works alongside appropriate medical care and does not replace diagnosis, monitoring or treatment from your GP, consultant or other healthcare professional.
