WEIGHT MANAGEMENT & GLP-1 NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT
Lose weight. Protect your muscle. Nourish your body. Build results that support your long-term health
Weight loss can be an important goal, but the number on the scales is only one part of the picture.
Whether you're trying to manage your weight without medication or you're using a GLP-1 medication such as Mounjaro or Wegovy, my approach focuses on helping you lose weight while continuing to nourish your body, preserve muscle, support energy and build habits that serve your health for the long term.
I work with both women and men. Your programme is personalised around your health history, current medication, nutrition, lifestyle, symptoms and goals - not a generic diet plan.
ARE YOU LOSING WEIGHT - BUT WORRIED ABOUT WHAT ELSE YOU MIGHT BE LOSING?

WHEN YOU ARE DOING A LOT RIGHT - BUT WEIGHT MANAGEMENT STILL FEELS DIFFICULT
Some clients come to me after they have already made significant changes to their food, exercise and lifestyle, and may also have discussed their weight or relevant health concerns with their GP, yet still feel unsure why weight management is proving so difficult.
Rather than assuming there is one hidden cause, I take a broader nutritional and lifestyle view. We can review eating patterns, protein and overall nutritional adequacy, appetite, sleep, stress, movement, muscle-supporting habits, digestive wellbeing, health history, medications and relevant existing results.
Where appropriate, private functional or nutritional testing may be discussed if it could add information that is relevant to the nutritional plan. This does not replace medical assessment or diagnose the cause of weight change; unexplained or concerning weight changes should be medically investigated.
For people who have already been prescribed GLP-1 medication, the focus is nutritional support alongside the prescriber - not recommending, prescribing or adjusting the medicine.
GLP-1 medications can reduce appetite significantly. For some people, that makes eating less feel effortless - but eating less doesn't automatically mean eating well.
You may be experiencing:
+ Very little appetite or difficulty eating enough
+ Uncertainty about how much protein you need
+ Low energy, weakness or poor recovery
+ Concern about losing muscle as well as body fat
+ Constipation, bloating, nausea or reflux
+ Hair shedding or concerns about nutritional adequacy
+ Confusion about supplements
+ A weight-loss plateau
+ Anxiety about regaining weight in the future
+ Uncertainty about what healthy eating should look like while taking medication
Or you may simply want expert nutritional guidance so that your weight-loss journey supports your health rather than focusing on weight alone.

WEIGHT LOSS ISN'T THE ONLY GOAL
My aim isn't to help you eat as little as possible.
It's to help you give your body what it needs while you're losing weight.
That means thinking about protein, muscle, micronutrients, hydration, digestion, movement, sleep, metabolic health and the eating patterns that can support you over time.
For adults in midlife and beyond, protecting muscle and strength is particularly important because these are closely linked with physical function and healthy ageing.
Your strategy therefore focuses not only on losing weight, but on supporting the body you want to live in for the years ahead.
Areas we may work on:
+ Sustainable weight management
+ GLP-1 nutritional support
+ Protein intake and muscle preservation
+ Eating well when appetite is suppressed
+ Nutritional adequacy and micronutrient intake
+ Hydration
+ Digestive symptoms such as constipation, bloating, nausea or reflux
+ Energy and recovery
+ Resistance training and appropriate movement
+ Metabolic and blood sugar health
+ Food structure and satiety
+ Healthy habits and behaviour change
+ Weight-loss plateaus
+ Long-term weight maintenance
+ Preparing nutritionally for changes to medication, in collaboration with your prescribing clinician where relevant

IF YOU'RE USING MOUNJARO, WEGOVY OR ANOTHER GLP-1 MEDICATION
My role is nutritional. I don't prescribe GLP-1 medication or advise you to start, stop or change your prescribed dose.
Instead, I work alongside your medical care to help you optimise your nutrition while you're taking the medication and to address the nutritional challenges that can arise when appetite and food intake change.
Any decisions about your medication remain with you and your prescribing healthcare professional.

A PERSONALISED APPROACH - NOT JUST ANOTHER DIET
Weight management is rarely helped by another rigid plan that tells you to simply eat less and move more.
We'll start by understanding your health history, current diet, weight journey, medication where relevant, lifestyle, symptoms, relationship with food and what you want to achieve.
From there, we'll create a practical strategy designed around you.
There are no generic meal plans, no judgement and no expectation of perfection. The aim is to help you understand how to nourish your body in a way that is realistic, sustainable and appropriate for your circumstances.

PRIVATE TESTING, WHERE APPROPRIATE
In some circumstances, additional information can help us build a clearer picture of your nutritional or metabolic health.
Where appropriate, I can recommend private functional and nutritional testing when I believe it could provide useful information to help guide your personalised strategy.
Testing isn't automatically required. If you already have relevant recent blood or other test results from your GP, consultant or another healthcare professional, these can also be considered within my professional scope.
The Transformational Programme includes one functional test, selected according to your individual needs. In the Essential and Complete programmes, any private testing recommended is discussed separately.

PERSONALISED SUPPLEMENT ADVICE
Supplements may be useful in some circumstances, particularly where food intake has become limited or an individual need has been identified.
Where appropriate, I can provide evidence-informed supplement recommendations tailored to you, taking account of your diet, health history, medication and other relevant factors.
Supplements are never a substitute for nourishing your body well. The aim is targeted support where it is genuinely useful.
